Coronavirus Stimulus - New changes to Super and Social Security
The government announced a range of stimulus measures over the weekend to provide support for those affected by the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. This includes some changes to Superannuation as well as Social Security payments. Another RBA Rate Cut, and a Deeming Rate Cut
RBA has started the new financial year with another rate cut. That’s 2 consecutive rate cuts and the government has just announced a reduction in Deeming Rates, benefiting around a quarter of Age Pension recipients.
Insurance in "inactive" super....and rate cuts
Recently introduced legislation means that insurance within “inactive” super funds will be cancelled by 1 July, unless the member opts in to keep that insurance.
